Before the trip two days in Helsinki. 

Why is it that I always get lost in Helsinki?

Even if I only have to walk the main road from the central station?

It's so much easier to find my way almost anywhere else.

Copenhagen felt more familiar, 

even in areas where I hadn't been to before.

Wall embroidery

Another Pinterest-inspired project: Washi-tape wall embroidery on a magnetic board in sewing room.

The pattern is based on traditional Carelian soul bird embroidery and knit patterns. I wanted it to be something traditional with a link to my roots. My granddad was born and raised in Carelia and had to leave his home at a young age, when the area was evacuated during war. That is also where my profile name comes from - not just from my love for winter, but also from my family. It's a direct translation of my grandparents' last name.

Breakfast bliss

This morning everything is white!

I came across this sweet treat for mornings on Pinterest and made my own version of it.
Don't worry too much about the measurements, these are just guidelines:

1-2 dl berries and/or fruit of your choice.
(Here I used raspberries, black currants, cranberries and apples)
2,5 dl rolled oats
1/2 dl brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 dl chocolate chips
Mix these in a bowl and add to prepared baking dish.

2 1/2 dl milk
1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
Mix these in another bowl. Pour over the oat mix.

Bake in 200°C for 40 minutes.

Serve with anything you like, turkish yoghurt, honey, ice cream, vanilla pudding.. or just as it is!
