Kulissien takana -- Behind the Scenes

Parin viime viikon ajan olen puuhaillut kulissien takana puvustajana, lavastajana, roudarina, tarpeiston hoitajana.. lähes tulkoon kaikkena muuna paitsi näyttelijänä. Pääsiäinen tuli lähelle.

For the last couple of weeks I've been working behind the scenes as a costume designer, set decorator, roadie, props master and what-not, but stayed behind the scenes. It was a full-on Easter experience!

Puvustuksessa on käytetty osittain kierrätysmateriaalia, esim. judotakkia ja -housuja sekä verhoja, ja muutaman puvun löysin kirpputorilta.

The costumes are partly made of recycled materials, eg. a judo jacket and pants as well as curtains. I also found some costumes in a thrift shop.

Ostin Kambodzhasta yli vuosi sitten kierrätyskassin. Tänään sainkin sitten isomman erän samoja Bloom Bags -kasseja! Ei sentään kaikki minulle, vaan teimme kimppatilauksen kavereiden kanssa. Nämä kassit olivat aiemmin kala(n?)ruokasäkkejä. Ajatus on upea ja käydessäni laukkukaupassa minuun teki suuren vaikutuksen se, että kyseessä on sosiaalinen yritys. Over a year ago I bought myself a recycled bag from Cambodia. Today I received a bigger batch of Bloom Bags! These bags are made out of used fish feed bags. It's such a cool idea and what really impressed me on my visit there was the whole concept behind it. You can read all about it following the link above. And no, I'm not selling these. All the bags already have an owner.

Takaisin suomalaiseen talveen -- Back to the Finnish Winter

Venetsian talvi kesti kaksi päivää. Suomessa talvea on vielä reilusti jäljellä. Öisin pakkanen käy -20°C:ssa, mutta päivällä on auringossa jo melkein plussaa.

Winter in Venice lasted for two days. But not here in the north of Finland. It seems that there's plenty of winter days to come. It's still -20°C / -4°F at night, but come daytime and sunlight it might rise up to nearly above zero -but not quite.
